Justice and Dignity for Kashmir’s Terror Victims”: Tasleema Akhter Thanks PM Modi, Amit Shah and LG Manoj Sinha at UNHRC

Srinagar, J&K: Tasleema Akhter, Representative at the United Nations Human Rights Council and Chairperson of the Association of Terror Victims in Kashmir, stated that significant changes have been witnessed in 2025 regarding justice and recognition for terror victim families in Kashmir.

“For the past several years, we have been raising the voices of terror victims, and today we are finally seeing positive changes,” she said. Tasleema expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for recognising terror victims as “real heroes” who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

She noted that victim families are now receiving greater dignity, justice, and support from the government. She also urged the Government of India to conduct a detailed survey of affected families to ensure they receive all their rightful benefits and assistance.

Referring to the government’s rehabilitation initiatives for terror victims, Tasleema said she feels hopeful and encouraged by the steps being taken. “Just as terror victims are now receiving justice and dignity in India, we hope to raise these issues and secure the same recognition at the United Nations as well,” she added.
